One of our favourite brands here at Crafts4Kids is the fabulous Clockwork Soldier - creator of wonderful papercraft kits with themes ranging from dinosaurs and space to fairies and under the sea!
Clockwork Soldier was created in North London in 2011 with the guiding principle of creating quality products with an educational theme but most importantly that the products are fun! The brand wants to bring back the old fashioned concepts of imagination and fun in an age of technology and social media - to create products that encourage children to play whether on their own, inspired by their imagination, or together with friends and family. Clockwork Soldier is now one of the UK market leaders of children’s design led gifts.
Clockwork Soldier’s core values are based on wholesome family values with a “make and do” ethos that are reminiscent of simpler times. They are not in any way anti-technology, in fact they believe it has a vital role. They just don’t want traditional methods of play to be lost - a belief that we can all relate to!
Awareness of their ecological impact is built into Clockwork Soldier’s design process. Their products are minimal waste and FSC Certified, which assures that they are made from paper and card that is recycled or sourced from sustainably managed forests. Most of their products are plastic-free and they are working on becoming fully plastic-free. They have also worked with societies like the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust to create products that support conservation efforts.
